Extending a Qingdao charter tour to Weihai, Yantai and Penglai: how does Junaiyue design a Multi-Day Charter?

Guests who spend three days only in central Qingdao and guests who link Weihai, Yantai and Penglai into the trip are on two different kinds of itinerary. The first group returns to the same hotel each night; the second changes city every day. Once a charter extends onto the Peninsula, service shifts from a daily rental to a plan built around the whole route, and the hard part of a Multi-Day Charter is not the vehicle but the routing.

When Junaiyue takes an intercity multi-day booking, the map is opened first to work out the mileage: Qingdao to Weihai is 280 km and two and a half hours; Weihai to Yantai is 80 km; Yantai to Penglai is 70 km. Once these three numbers are on the table, how many cities fit in a day and where guests sleep at night are basically settled.

On the Peninsula route, work out the daily distance first

The most common mistake on an intercity booking is cramming three cities into one day. Qingdao to Weihai at two and a half hours does not sound far, but adding city entry and exit, sightseeing stops and lunch leaves under six hours of real sightseeing in a day. When planning an intercity itinerary, Junaiyue keeps daily intercity driving within 300 km and drops a stop beyond that.

Beyond mileage there is road condition. The Qingdao-Weihai expressway is quiet and smooth, so two and a half hours is reliable; the Yantai to Penglai section runs along the coast and jams easily in peak season, so 70 km can take an hour and a half. Junaiyue keeps a congestion buffer for every road section, and when quoting arrival times we would rather add twenty minutes over the navigation app.

Another thing easily missed is midway stops. On the coastal roads of the Peninsula, service areas are far apart, and elderly travelers and children need a break. The Junaiyue intercity route map marks the service area for each section, and the driver offers to stop when the time comes, without guests having to ask.

The three destinations Weihai, Yantai and Penglai also differ in sight density. Weihai suits a slower pace, with Chengshantou and Liugong Island at the north and south ends and the city center in between; Yantai attractions are scattered across several districts, so at most two a day can be done properly; Penglai is mainly Penglai Pavilion and the seaside, which takes about half a day. Junaiyue allocates days by sight density, not by splitting cities evenly.

A fuller itinerary is not better; one night per city is steadier

The most comfortable rhythm for an intercity multi-day trip is one night per city. Two nights in Qingdao, one night in Weihai, one in Yantai and one in Penglai means shorter daily drives and less luggage handling. Junaiyue plans a four to five day Peninsula route on this rhythm, so guests are not worn out and drivers avoid fatigued driving.

There is also the version with no city change at all: base in Qingdao and make day trips to Weihai or Penglai. Qingdao to Penglai is over 200 km one way, so a same-day return means more than five hours in the vehicle; it looks like less luggage hauling, but a day of it is more tiring than changing cities. When this request comes up, Junaiyue first shows guests the time math for both options.

An itinerary also needs blank space. After four straight days of early starts and late returns, guests lose steam from the third day on. Junaiyue multi-day bookings put a half day of free time in the middle, for a walk near the hotel or simply sleeping in, and the driver and vehicle also rest during that half day.

Do not pack the morning of a city-change day. Luggage, checkout and a two-hour-plus drive before sightseeing in a new city easily throws off the rhythm. The Junaiyue approach sets only one attraction on a city-change day: the drive goes in the morning, and the afternoon is left for guests to settle in and wander.

Places to eat should follow the route too. Seafood near the harbor in Weihai is convenient, Yantai restaurants are spread through the city center, and farmhouse food outside Penglai Pavilion is closer to the sight. Planning lunch stops together with the day route saves a lot of backtracking time.

Check the vehicle type daily, because luggage grows

On an intercity multi-day trip, luggage does grow. The first two days are light, then in Weihai and Yantai guests buy seafood, apples and wine, and on the way back the trunk is twice as full as at the start. Junaiyue multi-day bookings check seats and luggage day by day and factor in that growth in advance.

Vehicle choice changes along with it. Four travelers in the city center do fine in a 7-seat, but for an intercity multi-day trip we usually go straight to a 9-seat, with the extra space for luggage and for comfort across three-hour drives. For six or more travelers intercity, Junaiyue suggests a 15-seat, with room to spread out and space for the bags.

There is also the case of a mid-trip vehicle change. Part of the itinerary climbs Mount Lao and part runs long distance, which calls for different vehicle types. The Junaiyue approach is to keep one vehicle throughout; if a change is truly needed, we agree the place and time with guests a day ahead, so no one waits on the road.

Driver familiarity also affects how smoothly the trip runs. A driver used to the Qingdao-Weihai expressway knows which section fogs up, and a Penglai driver knows which parking lot is closest to the harbor. For Peninsula multi-day bookings Junaiyue prefers drivers who have run the route, so when guests ask where to eat along the way, the driver has an answer.

How overnight fees and empty mileage are shared

On an intercity multi-day trip the vehicle and driver do not return to Qingdao for days, so meals and lodging follow the itinerary. Practices differ on how to bill this. Junaiyue quotes the whole itinerary, folding the driver meals and lodging and the empty mileage into it, with no separate overnight fee, so guests see a flat rate.

The empty part can be squeezed down too. After dropping guests in Weihai, a vehicle returning to Qingdao empty is pure cost. A multi-day itinerary links Weihai, Yantai and Penglai into one line, so the vehicle keeps moving forward and empty mileage shrinks. Junaiyue intercity routes are planned this way, keeping empty mileage within 15 percent of total mileage.

The return leg needs the same thought. If guests take the high-speed rail back from Penglai, the vehicle must drive back to Qingdao empty, and Junaiyue notes this mileage in the quote in advance, so guests know where the money goes and are not surprised at checkout.

Junaiyue breaks out every item on the quote. Vehicle fee, driver meals and lodging, and highway tolls and bridges are each stated clearly, so guests can run the numbers themselves. The trust this transparency earns lasts longer than guests kept by a low price.
